For years, Nadal has been touted as "the transitional champion" between the Roger era and the Novak era (by MTFers), and despite all the dominance from Roger and Novak, he has been able to stand his own ground and merit during these years, winning 20 slams.

Now tied with Roger, and maintaining a distance from Novak's 17 slams, it seems that Rafa has reached a monumental stage of his career, and looks like he's about to pull away from the other 2 and take the GOAT title in a few years. (I hope he wins 25 slams, as it's doable imo. 3-5 more FO, 2 more USO, and 1 more AO/W).

After all these years being #2 on the list, it appears Rafa has outlasted Roger, achieved more at Roger's respective age, and still 5 years younger.

2021 will be the most important year for these three guys.

1 - Roger winning #21 will keep Rafa at bay.
2 - Novak has a chance to win 3 slams. He's AO goat, and as he has now the best serve on the tour, he has been the Wimbledon GOAT since 2015.
3 - Rafa winning at least 1 slam will finally put him at the top of the list.

Nevertheless, it appears we are now entering Nadal era, after so many years of him being in the shadows of Roger and Novak.

Was it the Novak ‘era’ after he won his last major? No; Fed era after he won his last major? No. Thiem era......u get the point. That should suffice to answer this thread’s question.
