It must be decent man.
Catholic leaders and Pope criticize it too.
@ mtw...figures you would give that.

Ironic. Isn't England the Country which used to have evangelists, going to other countries?

Apostle of Germany = Saint Boniface (English)
Apostle of Ireland & Nigeria = Saint Patrick (English)

...What is England most famous for now? Harry Potter (Witchcraft.)

Even the Church of England is split over the morality of allowing gay clergy..abroad, if not at home.

The silly old fart was just pandering to Muslim extremists. He was interviewed by a Muslim magazine. I think he has the sorry attitude that if he kisses Muslim terrorist asses they will maybe not blow him up.
So much for ''Onward Christian Soldiers Marching As To War.''

It does give Archbishop Williams a break from his usual dilemna of trying to decide whether he should pander to the American leftists or to African traditionalists on the issues wracking the Anglican communion.

It is very good that he had courage and criticize this politics. Very decent man. Our Ctaholic leadres made it from the beginning ( for instance Polish Pope said to Bush at once at the beginning, what he thinks about his wars and present Pope is against it too ) US politics is inconsistent with Christianity. Besides eternal obturation with God by commiting crimes is an insult for God and every religion. These people, who make such things are no Christians. What's more. All these people, who voted and who intend to vote for such blokes are guilty of death of all these people, who were killed, are and will be killed in these american, occupying wars cause by their leaders as Bushes and Clintons.

I wouldn't expect you to know the difference between nationality and place of residence, given that you probably have never left your village.

And as I have said before, I admire the USA, not Bush. Following your immature logic, all Germans in the 40's that loved their country, were Hitler-loving Nazis.

That's why you would never criticize the USA and their politics. If I admire a country there's always a part of politics involved. Any country is formed and developed by their politics.

Saint Patrick English?????????????????

Try to get your facts straight.

Saint Patrick
St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints.

Apostle of Ireland, born at Kilpatrick, near Dumbarton, in Scotland, in the year 387; died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland, 17 March, 461.

Along with St. Nicholas and St. Valentine, the secular world shares our love of these saints. This is also a day when everyone's Irish.

There are many legends and stories of St. Patrick, but this is his story.

Patrick was born around 385 in Scotland, probably Kilpatrick. His parents were Calpurnius and Conchessa, who were Romans living in Britian in charge of the colonies.

Details of his life are uncertain. Current research places his dates of birth and death a little later than earlier accounts. Patrick may have been born in Dunbarton, Scotland, Cumberland, England, or in northern Wales. He called himself both a Roman and a Briton. At 16, he and a large number of his father’s slaves and vassals were captured by Irish raiders and sold as slaves in Ireland. Forced to work as a shepherd, he suffered greatly from hunger and cold.

Depends, on whether you're Irish, I guess...and can allow for such a...science fictional reality.

I've only been a Catholic since Easter of '95 [a convert,] and don't remember a lot of publicity being attended to the previous Pope's opposition to this war.

A lot of talk about "just war" ...(which I never did get, anyway; ) and while not endorsing this action, (for I wonder, whether we did it to ourselves, to replace the enemy that we had, in the Soviet Union...)

Richard, you seem to have missed the point that originally you said Patrick was English, you did not say not British. We British celts take exception to being pigeon-holed as English.
