Too many UEs but many great points from both players. Copil's serve is huge (landed one at 242 kmh) and could have snatched the first set if he had less UEs in the TB.

Stan broke early in the second set but gifted it back and was somehow injured in the next game (first serve at 140 kmh) but managed to hold to love

Third set, Stan couldn't break so Copil DFed twice in a row to let him serve for the match.

Great win for Stan considering it could of been him down 2 sets to love. Copil has talent and hope he keeps up the good form for the rest of the season.

I remembered Copil made some gutsy second serves against Dimitrov in Madrid I think last year.

Stan. :yeah: Hope he keeps focus as the days go by. Good draw needs to reaped. I wished I saw the match though.

A very tight match. Stan edged it in the tiebreaks but could have VERY easily been down 2 sets to love. I'm also worried about the elbow he was icing partway through the match... Hopefully it was precautionary and he's fit for the 3R.

Pretty good match.

Copil played excelent tennis and could've won 1st and 2nd set, had he not imploded in both TB's.

This guy has TOP 30 potential. Dropping around 10 pounds would help I guess.

Guy was great against Dimitrov as I said in Madrid. Just needs more work, which really the important factor in many players. They have the game to be in the Top 30 IMO. The question is could they accomplish it?

Yeah, I remember that match, he played awesome, despite losing a very tight one. Great backhand down the line in the TB (down matchpoint I guess).

I think he can get to the TOP 30. Huge serve, powerful groundtrokes from both wings, decent return, very good net skills. He needs to work on fitness and footwork IMHO.

Copil's a fine player, did well, Stan came through when it mattered though.

bad movement. I know he's a big guy but even so his movement is limited. I really like his game otherwise.
I think it has more to do with his brain than his movement.

It has been a good tournament for Marius but the real test comes now when he has to go back to Challengers and get his ranking up. This is where he has always struggled in the past but hopefully he's improved his attitude.
