Klizan couldn't handle the heat. He didn't seemed to have any clear physical problem.


Will face Murray in AO for the 2nd time in 3 years.

You're wrong there. Gil did that in 2012 defeating Granollers and Dodig.

Btw, pretty good performance from Sousa. Klizan wasn't okay and got worst during the match due to the heat but credits to Sousa for that too. Pushed him to the limit. Sousa served really well today too. Gets Murray next and will be back to top-50!

This match today proved that Sousa is one of the best players on tour when we're talking about cardio and resistance.

Sousa looked after the match he was indeed ready for another 4 sets of play. Looked very rested.

Sousa gets wins on heart alone. His FH and fight are the only 2 things good about his game.
Hope it was just the heat and Klizan is ok

Klizan´s health (or however to call it) letting him down once again. Things like these will always happen to him. He was looking tired and bothered out there in the 1st set already so I wonder if it really was only the heat or if he had some other problems as well. He also talked before the tournament about how physically ready he is for the heat...

Really sad to see him struggling like that. Scoreline was pretty tight and he was really awfully unfit in this match. Murray in the R3 would be the end anyway, but this match was easily winnable if not for these circumstances.

Sousa stayed cool during the match, that´s where he deserves credit. He wasn´t impacted by Klizan´s terrible body language at all and took care of his business.

Klizan needs to learn to control his game and his emotions a bit better. He has the shots and the power but not the consistency and ability to compete match after match.

How hot was it? Close to the mercy rule? It was brutally hot in recent years, almost dangerously so, but haven't heard that this year. Please inform.

Klizan has had breathing problems and stomach issues since morning, the heat wasn't really a factor as was posted before. Such a shame, because he kinda collects these kind of troubles during important matches to win.
