Noticed this one come up on the scoreboard. Didn't have a stream. Anybody care to comment on this one?

Nice but expected win for Haas against the youngster just inside the top 300.

Forgot Haas was playing. Well congrats to Tommy, would love for him to give Nadal somewhat a challenge. Best of luck to him

It took him 4 Sets to defeat a [Q] named Denis Kudla  That doesn't sound like Tommy is doing very well right now

Kudla has some game though. I think for Tommy, this was a decent win. Of course I didn't watch the match, but he got through a tiebreak and the 3rd handing out a bagel, not bad for barely playing the past two years.

To me it's more surprising that Haas managed to bagel him.
Kudla is a promising youngster and obviously Haas is past his prime, so IMO nothing surprising about Kudla taking a set.

Kudla is actually a very decent player. On this conditions, he can be somewhat a burden for most competition.

Was at this match with Tripwires and Hewitt=Bogan - made for an epic atmosphere.

Haas was in gimp mode for the first set and a half until he got broken In the second. The game at 5-3 went for literally half an hour with Haas wasting no less than 8 break points. After that he went into ball asking mode for a while hence the bagel. To be honest he looked pretty good out there for the last 2 sets and he served 20 aces. The slice backhands were keepInge aroused even though the topspin backhand was pretty average.

As for Kudla he looks like a bit of a choker but his game is fairly solid and he has a very nice off backhand.

Kudla is a good player, but a poor quality match.

so leng jai, based on this performance, what will he be able to do vs. nadal?
Hard to say as I haven't seen what Nadal's level is like. The saving grace for Haas might be his serve. If he can produce as many aces as today hes got a chance to get a set. He needs to hit the ball at least as hard as he did in the last two sets here because honestly the first 2 sets were pathetic. Haas pretty much structures his game around finishing points at the net these days and I can't see that being effective against Nadal. Hopefully he can find some of his old form for the big occasion.

First date :hearts:
Um, I was there as well.

I'm so lonely

Good summary of the match by Leng, some orgasmic sliced backhands from hass but the dtl was a total flop.
