Wasted chances :help:

Umpire overruling at MP :banghead:

Well, with good training sessions he will do fine at the next tournaments.

Well done for RBA to save all those break point chances, Thiem just didn't have enough to pull himself at least into a 5th set here, the result I expected

RBA is the mentally toughest player on the tour. Nadal plays with a lot more margin-for-error and topspin, truly flat and clean ball-strikers require a lot more mental toughness and Agut has that in abundance. His game is revolting, but can't deny the fight. I find him a detestable character mind you.

Thiem's got everything, everything bearing a slice backhand and a serve. The serve is the most biggest part that stands out, doesn't get him ahead in the point really, even the first. It's not that much of an advantage, not as much as it could be atleast.

Ugh Thiem

Hope he can get rid of this bad form and start winning matches. He's going to have to defend a lot of points from last year.

Expected result. RBA is just the better player and these courts suit his game.
No. It's a match up problem. Thiem cannot defend his backhand side and Agut just breaks that area down by drawing errors from it. Bloke only has an aggressive/offensive backhand, he needs a slice. Agut hits flat to that area. Ontop, Agut's return of serve is short and compact and can absorb pace pretty well, Thiem has not much going for him on serve and so Agut finds returning it bread and butter. Agut gets cheap points on serve, Thiem doesn't. As a match-player Agut is better, but ability wise, it's clearly Thiem.

good, both Coric and Thiem out, would have been too perfect if Tomic lost too

Domi :sobbing:

Domi's thoughts
6/4 2/6 3/6 6/7 against Bautista. I am not happy about my game but I need to say that I am also not completely devastated, because of the fact that I didn't expected too much from me. Tomorrow I play doubles with Struff against Knowle/Pospisil which is going to be also very though. Rotterdam is the next tournament I am participating in and I hope it's going to me more successful. See you!

another poor loss for the so called wonderkid
Poor loss for a 20 years old losing to the 13th seed?

Yeah, he didn't play his best tennis, but still managed it to have 4 SPs to get into a deciding set.

Some guys here :help: But they seem so afraid of the new kids like Coric and Thiem that it makes me really optimistic for the future.

Wasn't sure if RBA would pull through this with not so good form and injury concerns, glad he did.
