The Fog was lucky it got interrupted, if not he'd be in his plane back to Italy now. But I don't think he gives a damn and will probably lose tomorrow anyway.

This would hardly be an upset considering Fognini’s horrendous record against servebots and how easily he was dispatched by Opelka at USO last year... I caught a few points of the second set, Fog looked grumpy and threw his racket.

-Was able to catch the second set before the rain decided to become permanent...Fognini was entertaining the crowd as only he can (lots of Italian "self-encouragement", lost and looking at his strings during return games, and casually indifferent about his service games (would serve 4-5 in a row at 140 km/h before cranking a random one at 190 km/h), but to his credit, he saved multiple break points, but was always behind in the tiebreak scoring)
-Highlights: Couple of racket smashes and a correct challenge overrule where Fogs proceeded to stare down the line judge and politely remind her where the baseline ends

Meanwhile unseeded players get the likes of RCB, Safwat, Giron, Ito, Purcell, Uchiyama, Gaston or Polmans.

Horrid draw for Fognini.
Emphasizes the need to increase seeds to 48.

Its chaos with how loaded the current tour is.

There is objectively no justice and sense with achievements losing value as Q's play each other R1 while a top 15'er has to play a top 35'er or close to it.

48 is an odd number in a 128 draw because 128 it is not divisible by 48 so they would need to leave certain sections of the draw with more unseeded players than others. They might leave the TOP12 players with two rounds vs unseeded opponents but that would give even bigger advantage to the top guys - not sure if that's the best solution.

Could be a rigged draw to antagonize Fognini. Provoke Foginini with an opponent he hates to play, mental meltdown eruption ensues, TA levies huge fine on Fognini? You never know. Venus vs Coco ll was not a set up?

Fognini just HAS to pull this out...

Cant have Bublik or Opelka in R4. Against Berrettini at that.

It must be Matteo-Fabio

Fogna's attitude was the key today, he repeatedly interacted positively with the crowd and was all business (sans the point penalty for the second racquet smash, we're all human)...Opelka seemed unsettled in these conditions, especially during Sets 3 and 4, where he seemed to stagger between service points and got heated with Bernardes in the chair...Set 5 was what you like to see: both players meeting the occasion, hope Fabio keeps his head and we could see him in his first Oz QF
