Del Potro has been the most unlucky player in slams since last years AO, first Gonzalez in second,then first round with Nadal in the french,Federer in second round in Wimbledon,and Djokovic in the third round in USO and now Pics in second, that is really bad luck with the draws.

If he started actually winning in other events and get a seeding, he might start avoiding these players.
