A patchy performance by Rafa, nothing extraordinary but nothing worrying either. He will need some time to raise his game, I hope he will be tested before the end of the 1st week. Vamos!

2 breaks of serve against a claycourter? Not very promising.

Must be tough being a player like Delien.

Barely getting by and slugging it out on the challenger's tour and maybe sneaking into a 250. Talented and strong in your own right but realize there is a skill cap for your game.

Lost only 5 games and still took more than 2 hours.

Rafa really wasn't that good, which tells you the level of Delian. I really believe the top 4 seeds of Slams should get byes in the 1st round. The matches are rarely if ever competitive, and it would give an incentive to players to maintain a high ranking. Plus, it would allow some of the lesser players to get on the show courts at least in the 1st round. I doubt any Slam would sell less tickets knowing the top 4 get a bye the 1st round.

None of you a^^accxxZZZhshhhats on MTF even watched this match
Yeah, you're probably right. Nothing new here.

PS Loved the post-match interview and Rafa giving (the correct) answer and saying the wedding was the best thing that happened to him last season and not the 2 slams. Lol.

The scoreline is deceptive. Dellien gave effort as much as he could. Dare say Nadal looked a little out of sorts at times but still too much for the Bolivian.

I said in the WWW thread: no more than 5 games for the mountaineer. This is sea level.

Rafa should sue the AO for their racquet stringers, could have cost him prize money.
Rafa didn't lose a game after they finally came clean and gave him the correct tension....
First the tournament director again gives Federer the 2-day break before Final, and now this.
Dirty AO.

Have that bad feeling Rafa's pushing his shots most of the time and is unable to take charge in rallies.

They almost all seemed loopy as heck, ready to be pounced on.

Novak or Fed would have killed him today the way his ball was sitting in the middle of the court.

Once Rafa got his racquet restrung correctly he absolutely controlled the rallies, but the stringers gave him the wrong tension for the first 2 sets so its pretty obvious why Rafa 'only' hit 38 winners and 21 unforced errors....
Federer and Djokovic are in awful form based on their matches yesterday, but it makes no difference how well you play in Round One.

Isn't Xavi Segura his personal stringer that follows him during the tournaments?
He was approached many times by P1, but they couldn't get him, and they got all the big names signed (their twitter is full of amazing behind the scenes stuff as well).

So even if Rafa had wrong stringing job, which is laughable at this level of sport, it was his own choice.

Come on, just accept it was an embarassing post from this guy. Simply hilarious trolling as most of his posts.
