F*cking EXCELLENT match! Total domination by Nole, except for some (exciting!) slippage at the very end. First set: a coach spanks a novice. Sheer brilliance: 5th game of the 3rd set - Nole decided to break Ferrer and doggedly persisted, playing 4 wonderful points.

Now - if anyone has any doubt about Novak's current form/level OR about the fact he's ripe for Federer: think again

He was...JINXED!

Djokovic was too consistent and aggressive and served really well when he was down *0-30 a few times. Ferrer, far too inconsistent and loads of UFEs off both sides, he couldn't find his shots and struggled with his rhythm on his service games, and the net cords didn't help much. A late wake-up toward the end of the third set but it was too late. Overall, a disappointing match, I think most of us expected it to be far more competetive.

Highlight of the match: At the start of the match, Djokovic complained to the umpire about a crying baby in the stands who was throwing off his concentration. Steve Ullrich to the crowd, "Please give our crying baby a bottle!"

Thank goodness he finally won that set or it very well could have gone 5, once Pics got into it.

Still through without dropping a set, but he needs to keep up the first set form to have a shot. Not the third set form.

didnt start playing till the end, now get ready for some power in the next match DjokoEgo.

Too bad David only showed up for the last 20 minutes. I guess he learned a valuable lesson today. To beat the top players, you need to be at the top of your game for the entire match and take your chances, because they don't come along too often.

Fernando Gonzales defeated tommy hass 6-1 6-3 6-1, and Roger federer defeated Fernando Gonzalez 7-6 6-4 6-4...and mind you tommy is wayyyyy beter than Ferrer...I am not saying Djoker doesnt have any chance against roger (assuming he gets thru blake)....but i found it totally unnecessary to bring fed's name in ur post....typical fanboy huh...
