I miss it a lot! It add unique feature to the year-end championships. And stupid Houston destroyed this tradition...
(I guess ATP try to sell doubles more and more...)

yeah i miss the court that has no doubles alley, but if you're gonna sell doubles, then i guess this is a better option

Don't worry; if the ATP has its way, there won't be a doubles event to market...

I was watching some of Lisboa 2000 the other day, the court without the doubles-alley was pretty cool. Back then, there was a separate year-end doubles championship held somewhere else. I think it was in 2003 or so that they were combined.

I actually thought that combining them was a great idea.
How much press/TV exposure did the doubles championship ever get? I definitely don't remember ever hearing about it, although I didn't follow tennis so closely back then.

but in the long run, that is the right move to save doubles. not much press coverage for now, but at least those watching the event live can inadvertedly watch doubles.

It is weird seeing a court without the doubles alley. The Masters and World Championships and some of the TMC's have had those courts but it takes a few matches to get used to it.

Well, don't worry, with the recent efforts by the ATP, I'm sure that the tramlines-less look will be back very soon; and for all courts, not just those at the TMC.
