Yesterday Dick Norman wrote this on his website diary (translated):

"A while ago the ATP has suspended some (Italian) players because they have been betting once and a while for some little money on tennis matches (in which they didn't play themselves). These suspensions and fines were in my opinion very harsh. But the ATP clearly wants to make a statement that gambling absoluty is forbidden for players.

Anyway, next week another player will be suspended. He already told me he won't agree with the suspension and the fines and will appeal against them. Next week you'll probably read his name in the papers."

Anyone knows which player he is referring to? Dick is right now playing the Belgrado challenger. Possibly it could be a player who's also there???

it's Luzzi

and like Di Mauro (and unlike Bracciali and Starace) he didn't negotiate with ATP so the bad will be long and not a few weeks like for Potito

And the funniest stuff that Norman faces Luzzi in the second round. I wrote that if Luzzi still bets, he may bet on his failure :p

If they ban him because he bet on other players, he should sue ATP. ATP have no right to decide what will player do in his private life, and betting on tennis matches is not illegal. This is human rights issue. ATP is failing to find players who fix matches, and now they are making those stupid suspensions to cover their own inability...I am deffinitely on players side in this case.
