Andy Prepares for Memphis
by: Staff
2/13/2003 -- Andy's five-hour epic match at the Australian Open quarterfinal took its toll on his wrist. Coming out of the tournament, Andy was diagnosed with severe tendinitis and was instructed to wear a wrist brace for 7 days and to not practice. Last week the brace came off and Andy was able to start training again. Cicero, Andy's trainer, worked with him doing strength and conditioning exercises. This week, in addition to training, Andy resumes full practices with Tarik. As a precautionary measure, Andy continues to take treatment and have regular check-ups on his wrist.
With all this preparation, Andy feels he will be 100% for the Memphis tournament and looks forward to playing. In addition to singles, Andy will pair up with Paradorn Srichaphan to create some exciting doubles action.
