In the US Open final, in the year where they were getting attacked for being old and not retiring. (Sampras more, but I heard people saying it about Andre as well).

They had some memorable matches, like last year´s quarterfinal in this same tournament, Sampras winning in four sets (all tiebreaks).
Here´s to a wonderful final tomorrow (and hopefuly Pete can hold his winning record and get this one more Grand Slam title to his account).

Go you both! :D

Does anybody else feel that if Pete finally wins a tournament, the world will be thrown out of balance?

Like if Anna Kournikova finally broke through. It just doesn't seem right ;)

What do you mean "finally win a tournament"? It's been more like the "world got thrown out of balance" when he suddenly quit winning tournaments, especially since it's been a two year drought after eight years of winning consistently.

It'll feel more like poetic justice, if he wins today. His first Slam title was the 1990 USO against Agassi. How fitting if this should be his last Slam and he wins 2002 USO against Agassi. Yep! Definitely poetic justice!!
