ALT if I'm not mistaken.

Should have withdrawn from Tokyo.

Sinner can cut the race difference to 1600 points assuming he wins Beijing and Shanghai. As Sinner is protecting 1000 points though, I think that he could reclaim #1 at Vienna if he wins Beijing, Vienna and Shanghai.

I get precautions but it's interesting Alcaraz skips another Masters...I don't think he has had a season which he has played at least 8 Masters in a season while he has skipped every other Masters this season other than Miami this season.

Hopefully he will be ready for Paris. It's probably a good idea to let the ankle rest for a bit. Still, if he is not carefull Sinner can steal away the YEN1.

It’s a smart move. He played and won a lot. There are (slight) worries about his ankle, so much better to rest e try to fully recover for the final rush.
He did the same withdrawing from Madrid 1000 this year after Barcelona final vs Rune.
We know what he has achieved since then.

DOn't think Jannik will be playing all the tournaments he has put in his schedule for the moment (most likely will miss Vienna or Paris at least), so this shouldn't have any impact on number 1 from now to year end.

BUT, it could be very significant for first half of 2026, when Sinner will have 3 months to recover points over Alcaraz to regain #1 spot. Although it will still depend on how they fare in Australia. At the moment I see it 50-50 who will be ahead after Miami 2026.

Good decision, but his main mistake was playing Tokyo instead of Shanghai in the 1st place

Now we have a very tough 2nd half of the draw, and very easy 1st half, with plenty of opportunities for players to make a SF/F there

Good decision from Carlos, it’s better to rest for 10 days than to push the ankle and risk a bigger injury.

And I don’t think it changes much for the number 1 spot, I don’t expect Jannik to play Paris and Vienna either, he’ll probably skip a tournament to rest as well.

Wise choice and mind games. Sinner likely won’t sweep like last year as he is losing sets left and right, even Shanghai will be risky for him to drop points.

Carlos don’t have anything to defend, as long he shows up fresh in Paris and Turin he can win both.
