Huge serving by the Croat as usual but Agassi was able to win a lot more points off of Ivo's serve in all the TB's and really throughout the match.

This has to give Andre a huge confidence boost. He did alot of players a favor. What a nightmare opponent.

Agassi's average first serve speed 96 mph (78% in play) - looks to me like he knew Karlovic couldn't hurt him so he just eased in some slow first serves. Why bother hitting it hard and then perhaps having to take a second go?

1 break each.

How did Karlovic manage that?

Wonderful to see AA the Eternal still playing so well. It'd be so fine if he, or anyone else, could take out Thuggy, so he could make one more final. Maybe somebody will whisper something into Thuggy's ear, that going easy on AA this once "would be best for the game". Certainly not out of the question - recall Hewitt-AA semi "match" to give American fans one last Andre-Pete final for the ages.

:yeah:. Besides, if the ball doesn't have pace u can't just block it, specially for someone with such a crappy return :tape:

Yep. He just kept the ball in play for most of the time. He didn't hit his usual punishing groundstrokes. He would get IVO on the run and that was that.

Ivo is a god compared to Rusedski. Who could only win 4 points off Andre's serve.
His groundstrokes are impressive for a 6'10 yhetti.

Nice job by Agassi, i am hoping for that Nadal-Agassi match.
I think it will happen but the Birdman could come out firing against Agassi and Blake won't be a pushover for Nadal if he beats Igor tonight.

Excellent result. Karlovic is so difficult to play.

I thought that Andre was way too tentative from the baseline, he just moved Ivo around a little waiting for UEs. But hey, it worked.

Rather boring match actually. Andre had it way easier on his service games, so it was virtually guaranteed that he'd win the breakers.
