Pioline and co knew they can lose the licence(bercy facilitiy is not up to atp1000 standard),so they moved to new arena, second biggest(18000)behind US open.
Second and third courts up to 4000 each.
I just saw this on twitter and thought it was fake lol. I wonder what the rationale is, Vienna seems like the least important event of the 4 he's juggling
Pretty sure its a money thing ( what isn't ) like with Carlos as well. They'll skip the masters 1000s because those are mandatory and don't pay an appearance fee. The ATP 500s are likely paying them much more just for showing up than they would get for winning a masters 1000. Then since they are likely to win those titles its even more money.
And obviously the Six Kings Slam thing is the money grab of the century. No way they would miss that.
But this is bad for the sport and even though its great for Sinner & Carlos pockets. Hopefully the ATP won't let this become a thing. To be clear I don't mind guys getting an appearance fee. But not when they are skipping ATP 1000s to play ATP 500s.
Likewise I don't like seeing guys skipping tour events to play exhibitions. The Six Kings Slam could be made an official tour event. With an entry list of six. The six highest ranked players in the world.
Maybe getting out of Paris is related to the scheduling two years ago. If I recall correctly, Sinner played very late one night, and got a time not allowing for much recovery in the schedule for the next day.
Possible,i remember Novak telling Manolo that he will not play Madrid again after Bulgarian hoolligans fiasco.
He came back 3 years later after Manolo convinced him to play.
Jannik will play Paris but is not sure about the Davis Cup yet.
