Good result for Lucho and he tries to rebuild his ranking and this is the place where he won his first event.

Going to take time for Monaco to rebuild his game, but come the main clay events in Europe, he should be ready by then.

Lucho plays either Calleri (4th time this year) or Chela the guy he beat for the title in 2006.

Coach Mastelli is the true winner here, as he coaches both Lucho and Pico.

If Calleri wins this will probably be a new record. Playing 4 times the same player by febrarury? This must be crazy

The most pleasing result of the day for me. I'm delighted to see Lucho stringing consecutive victories at an ATP event together, for the first time since Bastad last July.
Hopefully once his QF against Gordo is over, their head to head for 2008 will be level at 2-2.

Lucho and Gordo are playing doubles again this week, they won the title in Buenos Aires.

They won again today as well.

Think so to. If he hadnt had a recent injury, I think he would have won.
You don't know that for sure. Their H2H is 3 all, and one was a retirement to Monaco, when Horna had a shoulder problem.

They know each others games very well, just a question of who does it better on the day, it's not a poor match up for either player.
