Huge serving from Mucho, he came to play and he played very very well.

Well Nalbandian might have pulled of that second set but got infuriated after two seperate instances of crowd distraction, two electronic beeps that went off right as he 1) played a volley and 2) hit a first serve

Good fighting from Nalle not on his day in the second set but big congrats to Mucho! Very impressive!

If he is so amazing, then why he is Mugro then?

Excellent serving from "the Head" and Nalbandian couldn't read it at all and Mucho was able to use his backhand and played an excellent final.

The 2nd set was just Nalbandian holding on for the most part, though he improved his level from the start.

Too good from Mucho and no over celebration either.

Too good from Almagro, his serving was huge today and the rest of his game was working well also.

Nalbandian did well to keep the second set tight and recover from a slow start although got distracted in the second set tie-break after missing the easy volley and lost tamely in the end.

Almagro is being interviewed now by the broadcasters in ESPN+ (South America). He dedicated his win to a heckler that was right behind his coach insulting him during the entire match.

That's hilarious, considering he had the crowd behind him the whole event esepcially in the last 2 matches.

He always be "la cabeza".

Almagro: Too good. Came out fearless as he probably knew he had to, hitting some amazing SECOND serves as well as first. Frustrating for David, but a great run anyway.

Nice to see Almagro on fire like this, as he was throughout the whole Latin American clay season. Hope he brings this kind of form and consistency to the European clay season now :yeah:

Mexico shouldn`t have an ATP

Mexican crowd is worst than Shangai crowd, and I thought that Shangai one was awful
Is worst than chilean crowd, better said, and THAT's terrible  :p

Typical Almagro. Last year when he was playing Saretta in Brazil, there was a spectator bothering him and Almagro shouted over to him something like "if you don't stop, I'm going there to get you after the match."

hahaha..you´re right. La Cabeza is having a nice run on the clay, like the one in 2006. Let's see if he can make some noise in the clay masters series, and of course in RG.

PS: Gotta love the Acapulco trophy.

Mucho was just too good, David could not do much on the return, he put up a good fight in the 2nd but played a poor tiebreak. Now it is interesting to see how he carries this form and confidence in the main part of the clay court season.

David had two very good tournaments, hopefully he will stay focused and not go attend a rally or something during the clay court season.
