One of the best guys on the planet has plesged 10,000 a match win and if wins outright, his whole prize money. Of course wont happen but fair play. 10k a win is pretty decent.

Re match... serving was immense and Cecchinato played well

Zverev was fortunate not to lose a set, he managed to get broken first in all 3 sets but broke back immediately in all 3 occasions. Definitely some improvements from ATP cup which is not saying much, at least he only threw one game with DFs and hit a few spectacular shots ( Also the hillarious complete miss of a tweener ? ) Cecchinato has the game to trouble Zverev with his slicing and dropshots, he just couldn’t execute at a few crucial points or we might have seen a true test for Zverev’s mentality.

Class act by Zverev to announce a 10,000 dollar donation for the Australian wildfires for each match he wins(and all his prize money if he wins the whole thing which won’t happen :ROFLMAO:), of course he won‘t be donating a lot unless he magically finds form.

Just happy he didn't made a Grand Slam Zverev Match out of it. Of course it looked way better than in Brisbane, but still a lote of room for improvement. Next is Ruud oder Gerasimov, going to be more tougher, but Cecchinato did play better then expected.

As for the donations, that shows that Sascha is a great great person, of course he has his antics on court, but off court he is one of the most likeable characters on tour!

Disappointing. I thought he was going to donate per double fault.

But nice to see my emotionally adopted son Sascha going through in straight sets.

Very favorable draw for him. This out-of-form clay specialist fought better than I thought he would but a straight set win was never in doubt

Good win for Zverev. Does anyone know if he's hired a sports psychologist yet? His problems are clearly not technical..

not sure yet. Selling charitable PR is super easy.

Stop reading into his intentions behind his donation. A donation is a donation. $10,000 is $10,000. The people who needs the money dont care about the intentions of the donor. They just need the money.

Zverev served at 84%, so he made only 17 second serves. Still, 4 of those were DF's. And he got broken 3 times. Doesn't compute.

4 DFs as a whole doesn’t look that bad.

But if we analyse it in detail.

4/17 = 23.5% of his second serves were DFs.

That’s still pretty terrible and it’s not a good look. If he has a great serving percentage like today, it won’t be that detrimental, but 84% first serve is a rarity, not the norm. It was like that in WTF, but in ATP Cup the percentage wasn’t high and the DFs rained. On an average serving day, he’ll still serve way more DFs since he’ll have more second serves in play, so still not really an improvement in that regard.

If his DFs per second serve percentage is lowered a lot more, only then we can say he has improved in that department. In this match, despite the win, he still hasn’t.

He'd make it back, and then some, in endorsement and PR.

I also think that it's far more important to tackle prevention, instead of simply ignoring the fact that humans are frying the planet and crying about the consequences.

Actually served pretty well in this match. 4 double faults ain’t bad for a 3 setter and even if it was 4/17 second serves, that makes it a little worse but 84% first serves is pretty remarkable when your not hitting puff balls. Good on him for donating and looks like we all need to root for him to win the tourney.
