The greatest achievement in sport was Nadal achieving the Surface Slam over a 9 month period. Unbelievable achievement that will.never be repeated.

Who would have thought a decade letter he would hold 2 Majors and still be dominating tennis as the latest and oldest YE1.

Nadal just defies logic with his greatness.

You are very prolific, OP.
On topic - 2010 was probably the weakest tennis year in this millennium - bar the AO of course.
Nadal was handed cup cake draws in all slams he won that year. Do you know how many TOP10 players he defeated in the entire year? IIRC the lowest number ever by a year end no1. So that „achievement” of Nadal is very overrated.

No one has ever won 3 slams straight on 3 different surfaces like Rafa RG 10/Wimbledon 10/USO 10, and will probably never be done again. I will have to check to see if Laver or Rosewall did it back in the day, perhaps Grass slam then clay slam then indoor wood slam

EDIT: Looks like Rosewall did indeed do that in 1962-1963. Winning French Pro on clay in 1962 over future RG champion Gimeno in the finals, 1962 Wembley Pro on indoor wood beating Legendary hall of famer and 7 time I believe slam champion Lew Hoad in an epic final including a 15-13 set, and then the 1963 US Pro on grass, beating of course Rod Laver in the finals

Laver only won pro slams on grass and wood and when he won his CYGS, it was only grass and one clay, RG.

Btw on the subject of cup cake draws...did Nadal not destroy Federer in Roland Garros and Djokovic at Us Open? Was Federer not ranked no.1 when Nadal humiliated him and Djokovic no.3?

And did not Nadal straight set Berdych who had beat Djokovic in SF at Wimbledon?

Can u now see how your saltiness is a thing of delight for Nadal fans hahaha.

People from that era generally say Rosewall was greater than Laver. Somehow over time Laver clearly had more friends in the media and managed to create the myth he was greatest ever.

Well winning CYGS at the advent of the Open Era when media was ready to explode and it did was instrumental. Rosewall's best years one can argue were still pre-Open Era, especially 60-64. Rosewall arguably had the toughest era of all time, having to play peak Gonzales when he was younger, and then peak Laver when he was older, followed by Peak Connors at the very end

Ive had many accounts on TTW. My main one is MichaelN...l.

Been there for years and love upsetting Federer fans although most of them disappeared after wimbledon 2019 so its boring there now as only about 20 posters post. Its alot better here seems much wider audience here

2015 > 2010 Sorry, but you have to deal with that first, I have to admit.

AO, FO Final, WIM, USO, TF, IW, MI, MC (first three masters in a row), ROM, SHA, PAR, MOR final, CIN final, 13/13 finals, 10/13 won from Big Titles.

2010 Nadal: AO QF (!), FO, WIM, USO, TF final, IW SF, MI SF, MC, MA, ROM, KAN SF, CIN SF, SHA R16, - 7 titles, 6/7 won from Big Titles.
2011 Nadal: AO QF (!)

How can 2015 be greater than 2010 lmao. When did Djokovin Majors on 3 surfaces in same season?

Sorry Nadal 2010 was the year he sealed GOATHOOD. Djokovic yet to even do a channel slam!! Let alone Surface Slam

Djokovic made that statistic obsolete winning the FOUR slams in a row, not just 3.
Fine achievement what Djokovic did but nowehere near as prestigious as the Nadal Surface Slam. Players judged on seasons. Hence YE1 way more important than weeks at no.1
