Who cares if it´s not counted in an "official" H2H? Real tennis experts will count it anyway, because both players will give 100%. The tournament looks more serious than Laver Cup and we all know that´s somehow counted, although third set is just a supertiebreak.

Just like I don´t care if Tilden has 0 official weeks at no.1, real fans know he has 500+ weeks at minimum

"If the matches don't count on h2h it's like they never even happened, you may as well just go watch them play practice sessions."

If the practice session involves a 4.5 million prize for the winner of the session, then sure, I expect a similar level of hustle as at the Six Kings Slam.

I'm not sure you've quite grasped what may and may not motivate players to put in the effort. Which one do you reckon counts more as a motivator to put in effort: a notch in the H2H tally or 4.5 million dollars... And as for watching matches: if the players put in max effort (as they will do for 4.5 million) why would you then not watch the match... This is competitive tennis we're talking about. If the players compete, isn't that the point... Or what's your motivation to watch the players play. I don't quite get your point. You need ATP to tell you sth has an official status and then you will watch, no matter what the level of hustle is?

Btw. Challenger matches don't count towards the H2H --> They never happened and are not worth watching, right?

edit. I'll put this here too:

That's very well and all but the simpler reason is it's six kings SLAM, I'm sure both Jannik and Carlos would like to end with a 3-slam season (along with World Tour Finals).

I have noticed that British posters really do not like the 6 Kings, why is that?

Is it because of the Crusades? I thought the Catholics went mostly, did the Anglicans go as well? Maybe @florentine can chip in

Or because a lot of rich British people flee Britain for Dubai or wherever?

Genuinely curious because my European history knowledge and culture has some holes in there
They sportswashed everywhere in the entire world through the course of their empire, now when someone else does it they seethe

Protestantism... it's a bit of a long story... it began in "Germany" (or HRE..) with Luther and his 95 theses against indulgences and Calvin (Switzerland) and went on to affect Northern and Central Europe, Bohemia (the defenestration of Prague), as well as the United Provinces (present-day Netherlands), then a long period in France with the Wars of Religion.

However, the English case is a little different.
Anglicanism was born from the Pope's refusal to accept Henry VIII's "divorce," which caused the break with Rome, and made the King of England the head of the English Church, not the Pope of Rome.
Only on MTF...thread about an exho Arabian Slam and somehow we go move to the origins of Protestantism

Norwegian football assosciation was mad as hell about the Qatar world cup (not that it mattered as they didnt qualify). But those oil rich Scandis like a flavour of morality with their sport and he would probably get criticized to hell if he went there. Which to be clear i think is good

I think to get swallowed up by this you either gotta have a shallow sense of the world and or have bit of a nihilistic outlook.
And with tax records (including taxable income and wealth) being publicly available in Norway and Norwegian media's bizarre obsession with private citizens' finances, no doubt Norwegian journalists would find a way to calculate exactly how much he was paid by Saudis and that would be a big story. I mean, this year his sellng an apartment in Oslo for ~$2.5 million and buying a villa for ~$4.5 million were somehow deemed newsworthy — not even in sports publications but financial ones 😂

Knowing you, you prolly want some of the fine ass golddiggers that frequent that region
I have enough gold diggers here in Miami. Though it would be rude to turn down concubines as a guest

I am reminded of the karate tournament on an island in the old Bruce Lee movie. And the black fighter chose like 7 women for the evening and he apologized to the rest, saying he was tired and only had energy for 7

If any one of these 6 players complains that the season is ‘too long’ and there are ‘too many events’, I hope the media they say it to punches them in the face.
or the ATP then tells them 'Fine, from now on there will be no exhibitions ever in the future & you can only play our sanctioned events''

Uhhh, ... Does anyone notice which part of the world the 6-Kings will be playing?
Just as a simple courtesy, when they fly by Gaza, maybe they could open the door,
and throw one of their roasted dinner pheasants down to the starving Palestinians.

Better yet, they could donate 10% or 20% of their prize money to the people of Gaza!
