All these players came out of qualifying and are now in the Kitzbühel quarterfinals. López, Kecmanović and Schwartzman are the only players left in the draw that were directly qualified for the main draw.

Has there ever been a similar case? Usually there are only 4 qualifiers in a 32 (or 28) draw - for some reason (Corona?) here we had 6 (Herbert was the other one). So this might actually be a very first time.
We might end up with 4 qualifiers in the semi finals - has this ever happened at an ATP event?

When your #3 and #4 seeds are underdogs in their first matches against qualifiers it really tells everything about the situation.

These qualies players had more time to prepare on clay that some players who have just arrive in Europe after having played on hard at the US Open and some are real specialists like Djere, Delbonis or even Hanfman who likes to play in altitude (remember his final in Gstaad), then good to see Marterer coming back (he was in the last 16 in RG in 2018) and Huesler is the only surprise but he had the chance to play Fognini who is just coming back from an ankle operation.
So all in all in this strange year, not such a big surprise.

3 qualifiers in the SF now. It is up to Delbonis against Kecmanovic to complete the set. I guess that would indeed be the first time at ATP level.

Needs to be added that despite errr.. because of this massive level of quality here, shining young prospects Sinner and Roosoovooroo lose in rounds 1 and 2.
