W. Bush wasn't a smart man, but you don't need to be smart to be elected president.
I find it more surprising that Trump is actually a successful businessman, because that actually takes a bit of brains. The guy keeps presenting himself as a complete idiot in debates though. Something doesn't feel right here.

I don't hate the US but I will never understand that country. How the HELL can Trump have so much support? He is not only extremely unreliable as a politician, he's also a generally dislikeable person. Do people really want this absolute c*nt in the white house? He's a walking joke for fucks sake. Imagine him speaking to foreign leaders and then tweeting about it. "POO-TIN doesn't know what he's talking about, the guy's a LOSER." People voting for him for the giggles - yeah it's all fun and games until we have another world war on our hands. And that is NOT a joke.

I have to be missing something, it feels like the Jamvol thing in the ACC. Something is not what it seems.

I mean Bush was smart to a degree. He did graduate from Yale (one of the top Ivy League schools in America) and you have to have some level of brains to get so high up in politics. But compared to previous presidents and other politicians maybe he was not a genius.

I also feel as if something is off with Trump. It feels like he is playing the American people with his apparent off the wall nature. He has always been a loud character but you have to have some level of restraint to be the successful business man he was. Has he suddenly lost all ability to control himself?

People vote for stupid reasons. In 1960 Kennedy beat Nixon based strictly on the fact that he looked better in the 1st ever TV debate. People listening on radio thought Nixon won but Kennedy was the clear winner to television audiences just because he looked better and didn't sweat.

Trump is a supporting actor in this show. He is out there to help Hillary to win.

#839 ·
Perhaps. Personally I don't really care as long as that asswipe doesn't win himself. His hillbilly supporters however won't back down.

Hillary Clinton wins Georgia and Virginia, Bernie Sanders wins Vermont. Donald Trump declared winner in Georgia...

Her anger in her speeches is starting to annoy me.

And more and more I start to feel that this is just another politician of the type people are fed up with.

She is ranting about all the things she is going to do, with the irony being that she and Obama have been running the country for the last 8 years.

If Trump comes to power, it's bye bye immigration. The guy is such a non-white hater and he's unapologetically so. It's like he's the second coming for white Americans so I'm not surprised why he's getting so much support. Though no sane immigrant legal/illegal would ever vote for him.

Unfortunately, USA's last good candidate who pretty much everyone liked was Al Gore. I wish he recontests. I think he could've been the modern day JFK.

Obama brought back some stability but not too impressive.

It's bye bye immigration, hello emigration.

Gore was never more than a fortune hunter. Only interest was the billions he could make off climate change. He probably has one of the biggest carbon footprints in the USA while he preaches that the masses must reduce theirs.

I have done a complete flip-flop on Christie.

Now I can not stop watching that hostage video.

My new theory is that he is an establishment mole sent to sabotage the Trump campaign.

But maybe Donald *uck is onto him. There is that other video where Donald is overheard saying to him, "there is the plane over there. Get on it and go home."

Where oh where is that brilliant poster who used to dub the film clip of Hitler in his bunker? He is needed now, more than ever.

My brother lives in the US and very recently my sister immigrated to Canada with kids and husband. I don't know if my sister will vote in future, but my brother, who lives in Silicon Valley and is doing more than great there, never voted to my knowledge. Or at least never mentioned American politics, and certainly never mentioned immigration problems. That is why America is so great in my eyes.

 for today's result.

Two evils are winning on both sides. Except in Vermont.

If Cruz dropped out, most of his supporters would probably go to Trump.
If Rubio dropped out, I am not sure where his supporters would go. Probably more to Cruz than Trump providing Kasich is out.
When Kasich drops out, his supporters will go to Rubio, with limited impact.
Right now, both Rubio ans Kasich can still win a state, so we'll see.
Time for Carson to call it a day I think.
So, good hold for Cruz tonight. Rubio will be a better candidate in 2020. But still not over for him.

If I'm starting to reach one broad conclusion by reading this thread, its that people vastly overstate how powerful the US president is. One man is not going to be able to tear down the entire system. Especially when he's pissing off the leadership of his own party. Things will start to leak into the press as we get further into the campaign - probably helped by other Republicans - and the populists aren't numerous enough to carry Trump to the Presidency.

There's always been a nativist and xenophobic streak in part of the US population but it will continue to be far more welcoming to immigrants than Europe - the economy depends on it, and for the people who really matter here its not where you're from, but what you can do. I've worked around the world and that mentality doesn't exist like it does here. Its no accident Silicon Valley is in the US.

You people can't be that stupid to not understand why Trump is winning?! He is seen as the last hope for white Americans who see they are loosing THEIR country, the country their ancestors founded and built. Every sane person has a sense of self-preservation.

#880 ·
Every sane person has a sense of self-preservation.
But no sane person would want such an impostor to become president.

I see this rather as a protest vote, which will not go to the very end.

Like in France in 2002 when Jean-Marie Le Pen created a shock by getting into the runoff stage of the presidential election, preventing the traditional conservative-socialist duel. In the end the conservative opponent Chirac won easily, because the majority of the voters was afraid of seeing Le Pen in office.

Only an accident (huge scandal, serious health issue, etc) can stop Clinton now.

If you are single and earn less than $25,000, or married and jointly earn less than $50,000, you will not owe any income tax. That removes nearly 75 million households – over 50% – from the income tax rolls. They get a new one page form to send the IRS saying, “I win,” those who would otherwise owe income taxes will save an average of nearly $1,000 each.

Rubio: Trump got small hands.

Trump: I am 6'3 and I don't have small hands. I have heard people always tell me I have the most beautiful hands.
Trump got so worked up over this. :spit:

Man, I died laughing at this guy's rally. :haha: :haha:

So Sanders won 4 states, and tied the 5th. Not THAT bad..

But wtf is going on in South, %70-80 voted for Clinton? Do people adore Hillary there? Because of?

Also, I am still yet to understand that why black people heavily vote for Clinton..Has Sanders said/done something bad about them?
