Yep, it's that time of year again where we ask you what you would like to see in order to improve MTF.

Sensible and serious suggestions only please - they will be taken away and looked into how feasible they are.

The floor is open to you.

Do not target specific posters for bans. Every time I look SDG and Clay Death are getting banned. Certain posters are singled out for bans for minor things.

Also I would do 4 ACC's a season like the grand slams. because there are different clowns at different times of the year. early this year Infectus would have walked to the trophy but because he stopped posting peope forgot about him

1- reform the ACC (will expand on this later on)

2- give second chances to permabanned posters after 1 full year has passed.

3- uncensor words like 'cu*t' or 'r*pe'.

A section on user cp perhaps, where it tells you if someone has quoted you in a thread.

Thanks.
Yes, that would be very helpful.

I actually agree here too. Rafa is the GOAT was a major clown in the spring, but then went quiet. He would've gone far in the "RG ACC". Also, Fed's Mate was pretty nerfed by his permaban. He would've done well at the beginning of the year.

I suggest the ACC calendar is like this:
ACC tournaments in February, May and August. And then the normal BIG ONE is held in October/November. At least I think it should be something like that.

I doubt this'll be done, though. It would be good to see flashy clowns being rewarded for their clowning.

Yeah, if abraxas and I agree, then something is just plain wrong, no matter from what perspective.

Censoring r**e, as used in a general discussion of current affairs, is an embarrassment to a discussion forum and a strong indication that someone has lost control of their reason.

That was done because the word has been used excessively (and offensively to many) in regards to tennis results. Perhaps I can look in to whether it could be un *** for NT or just *** for GM. Or perhaps a better solution is to un *** but use infractions against people who use it in a tennis context.

''offensive to many'' That is the part I was wondering about. Were there really many people who complained? And even if that is true, did they complain about the word in general, or were they just upset at a particular use of the word in relation to a favourite player? If the latter, then I would imagine there are not many words left that would be printable?

Yes there were plenty of complaints, that's why it was done. This is still a website open to people under the age of 18 and while we don't come down like a ton of bricks on bad language, extreme language does need to be controlled - and the word r*pe has been used on this site far more in a tennis context by immature fans than it has been to discuss the actual act in a media context in NT. But it's something we will look again at to see if this is the best solution.

Btw, why is the word p r o x y censored (written without spaces of course)? I suggest people to be banned from certain parts of the forum only if it's possible. For example, some people can go nuts in GM, but behave quite benign elsewhere (and vice versa)

MTF is just perfect at the moment. Most here will just endlessly complain about corrupt mods. Reasonable people on the other hand, will see that it's hard to please everyone, but the banning has been ideal in my opinion. Even so, It's impossible to control the behaviour of everyone..

My only suggestion would ironically be about banning and its mechanism. I'd leave permabans to just double accounts and extreme cases, rather than continued rule breaking.

Also instead of banning people from the entire forum for months on end, simply ban them from the particular sub-forum they have misbehaved in. Give them a chance to learn their lesson without the need for MTF withdrawal symptoms.

If we have 4 ACC a year, this place would explode. And it might devalue the contest.

I wouldn't change too much, really.
