Forgot Corretja got to no. 2 in the world in 99 then nosedived outside top 20 and then suddenly got hot and won IW.

I forgot he won IW too. I remember his win at the Masters Cup beating Pete Sampras, then Carlos Moya after losing the first two sets. Also the most gracious loser I have seen in a slam final.

He also beat Pete on grass in Davis Cup in USA. Corretja is the most forgotten world no. 2 of all time. Wonder how close he was, how many match wins away he was to no. 1 as Petr Korda had four cracks at world no.1 but he lost all four of those matches.
