Gaston Gaudio needed eight match points Friday to defeat Italy's Andreas Seppi 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (5) and reach the semifinals of the Swiss Open. The second-seeded Gaudio will face Olympic gold medalist and seventh-seeded Nicolas Massu, who beat Peru's Luis Horna 6-4, 6-4. Massu beat Horna in the final at Kitzbuehel last year, three months before undergoing hernia surgery in the offseason.
