Roger had 0 competition from 2004 to 2007 except Nadal who was a clay court specialist at the Time.. djokovic at age 38 is still much better than any player from 2004 to 2007 except Roger and Rafa.... when Roger Competition got better he started winning way Less...

 

You have to be pretty high on gas from tennis ball cans to think that today's tennis influencers who spend most of their time at the hairdresser and the golf course would have had a chance against previous hard-working generations.

Never been such a NID era... sure they might be ill or injured and lose a match here and there... but for purely tennis reasons Sincaraz won't lose and the rest are spectators beneath the stage.

 

Amazing stuff, Fritz was in GOD mode and still couldn't take a set off Alcaraz who was playing at 86% at best.

Tokyo is not just another event for Alcaraz, who is appearing for the first time in an emerging market such as Japan. In the tournament, he is playing for the bonus of one million dollars that the ATP awards to the tennis player who scores the most points in the 500 tournaments. The circuit distributes a prize pool of three million dollars among the top six finishers.

Alcaraz, champion in Rotterdam and Queen's, finalist in Barcelona and quarter-finalist in Doha, has 1,430 points, which is 400 more than Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur, his closest pursuers who appear this week in the Beijing draw.

A third title in a tournament in this category would ensure him the lead at the end of the season in this classification unless Rublev or De Minaur also win in Beijing. It is the last 500 that Alcaraz will play while the Russian and the Australian are signed up in Vienna.

Even a 90% Alcaraz still beats Fritz comfortably in 2.

 

Well, he did drop a set to Ruud who is worse than Fritz which is one of the reasons people's hopes for an upset were increased.

 

I reckon that was the best and astonishing display of drop shots in the history of pro tennis.
