I think tennis fans are crazy lucky to have a match against two of the best shotmakers in the history of tennis before they call it a quit

 

It looks like a match with a NID result (for the meaning of the term NID look up in the Alternative Tennis Dictionary).

 

Djokovic's opportunity to get a 7th player against which he has 20+ wins.

The quality of the names against whom Djokovic has 20+ wins just shows how much of a weak era merchant Novak has been.

 

Djokovic could have 40 unforced errors and Cilic would still find a way to lose in two sets. Djokovic is obviously an amazing returner (less so this year), but it's crazy how Cilic's serve goes from a strength to a weakness whenever he's matched up against Djokovic.

 

Djokovic just knows how to beat Cilic

 

I’m actually a bit surprised Cilic has two wins in their H2H. As good as he is, he’s always felt like the kind of opponent Djokovic enjoys playing against. Novak has that knack for exposing weaknesses, and with Cilic it’s usually things like the movement and consistency on the backhand side.

Cilic’s wins came back-to-back, after losing their first 13 encounters. I had forgotten he beat Djokovic in the Queen’s final in 2016, and then caught him again in Paris 2018. Since then Novak has taken the last six meetings (one by W/O).

On paper a straight-sets Djokovic win looks like the only logical outcome, though with how irregular he’s been lately you never know.
