Yes, I think it's too dark and they'll resume the match tomorrow. They're covering the court.
Not good for Gael, he often has a slow start...

I can't believe it, 15-40, he's choking again. Davy isn't hitting winners, Gael is making unforced errors all the time.

2 good serves to come back at deuce, one error, one good serve, one error...

Yesss, 2 good serves in a row, sauvé!

He has a very decent record against top 10 players, 6-10.

The bwin window is so small, it's hard to say anything about the game, but the articles say it wasn't a bad match at all considering the very tough conditions ("Personne - eux exceptés - ne se plaindra de revoir ces deux joueurs à l'oeuvre, le Russe pour quelques sourires amusés, le Français pour autant de mimiques dont le public raffole...

He'll play Vanek in the next round.

I listened to his interview on the website, but it's not very interesting:
http://www.allianzsuisseopengstaad.c...271&tmpl=sound

They ask him what happened when he couldn't serve out the match yesterday, of course, and he doesn't seem very worried because of that, he says he was rushing too much because of the conditions too, it was so slippery, they should have stopped playing for long.

He doesn't want to take too much rest at the moment because he feels like he's learning a lot with Tarik and he is eager to keep working and playing.
Tarik is having some personal problems and can't be with him atm, so he works with his assistant for the next 2 weeks, but it's not a problem, he knows what he has to do.

He beat Vanek 6-1 6-4, serving 15 aces and winning 25/26 pts on 1st serve. An all French QF against PHM is next up...

The interview is pretty boring one more time (it was a good match, qualifiers always are tricky, blablabla.)
He kind of injured his knee during the match, but he thinks he will be fine for tomorrow.
Paulo is the favourite in his opinion. Belongs to the top 10 on clay.
He talks about where he lives in Switzerland (Nyon) and says he will keep living there, but of course it will be a little bit complicated since he will train in the US now. ^^
And a journalist asks him what was the "trigger" after his bad patch with 8 first round exits this year. "I've lost 8 times in the 1st round? Really??" He means there hasn't been anything special.

I just saw parts of the match, but he was making so many UE everytime I watched... The scoreline is flattering, the SP in the second set was like his first BP of the match and he took it. So the attitude seemed OK, he was fighting, but he really, really needs to get some consistency in his game, he's so frustrating to watch.
He sounds pretty angry about his performance too:
Quote:
He says his game was completely erratic yesterday. Paulo was solid and he was terrible. He wasn't serving well (20 aces, but also 9 df) and he was doing everything wrong. His aces helped him to stay "artificially" in the match and win the second set, but for the rest, nothing was working from the baseline, he never felt well. Easy win for Paulo who just needed to play his game.

So true...
But this is like the biggest thing to ask from a player... French tennis player in particular

And yeah, it's kind of annoying to watch him throwing in DFs or making silly UEs like he did
