Default Indoor season 2007

His schedule:
- Metz
- Vienna
- Madrid? He'll have to play the qualies (9th on the alternates list)
- Lyon
- Bercy - he's on the alternates list too, but he will probably get into the main draw after all the usual withdrawals or get his 85th wild-card ^^

The Républicain Lorrain writes today he injured his wrist in training and asked for a late start in Metz (not before Tuesday). The season begins well.

[5] STARACE, Potito (ITA) v QUALIFIER
GICQUEL, Marc (FRA) v [WC] SERRA, Florent (FRA)
QUALIFIER v QUALIFIER
MONFILS, Gael (FRA) v [2] CANAS, Guillermo (ARG)

He keeps playing seeded players in every other tournament. Luckily, it often seems to be more of a motivation for him, but still... Cañas can play indoors, it will be tough. He really needs to improve that stupid ranking in order to be seeded himself (and to enter the Masters Series. )

His wrist must be OK because I've read he was practicing in Paris today.

Typical French luck
But Canas's been playing not too well lately so ALLEZ GAEL!!

BTW, how far is Metz from Paris? I was staying near Gare de Lyon and saw the sign on the road to Metz. I really want to see some tourney in France. Bercy would be too tough to fit in my schedule

He has pulled out of Metz. Because of his wrist.

(Metz sure isn't the most exciting place to visit in France coming from Thailand, Ome - the city is a complete bore imo.)

I didn't stay long enough in Strasbourg, just a few hours, it looked OK, but you should rather ask other people.
I found Metz especially by night so depressing - I mean, I really just need a place to eat and to have a drink at night, nothing exciting, but Metz was like a dead city after 8 o'clock.
There are so many much, much nicer places to visit in France which can also be combined with tennis, like Marseille, Lyon, Nice...

Thanks. I'll ask around

I've only been to Paris and Nice. Marsille and Lyon sound nice BTW, I love TGV first class seat I can go around the country with this thing

But actually, I just want a place that clos to Paris or Geneva. Easier for me to plan my trip

Monte Carlo, not directly French, but close and the best tourney in April. Besides, I am also thinking of going!

I went there earlier this year... one week before the tourney I even took a picture with the promoting poster One thing that strikes me is the fact that Monaco's 100000% different from the city nearby like Nice

I see Ome is on her way to turn the whole "French Musketeers" section into a giant chat thread.
(I'm just joking, I don't mind.)

I was there 2 years ago and I loved it. I *can't stand* Monte-Carlo, but I have to admit that the tournament venue is the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's very small, so you're (literally) bumping into tennis players all day long, I felt like in a dream, lol.
The only problem is Monte-Carlo itself, but we were staying in Nice and smaller towns around Monte-Carlo like Menton and it was no problem to go to the tennis with the bus or the train.

French ones, too? Because in Roland Garros, most of the Frenchies practice elsewhere.

That was my intention, too. What is better Nice or Menton?
