Re: Kei Nishikori
Kei is listed as 177cm(5'10") and his birthday is July 23rd in Japanese tennis sites. Birthday is December(in atptennis.com) and Height:175cm(in ITF profile)
His height may have changed from his Jnr ITF profile but the month of his b'day!? Atptennis.com will probably update his profile if Kei gets more results.

It's been a great experience for sure and I hope he takes advantage of his SE for Washington.

The reality is even if Kei was to grow 3 or 4cm taller, he'll be around 180cm which is like a Hewitt or Agassi. Its enough to make a difference but not much compare to a Roddick or Safin.
So he's likely to meet opponents with more power, but I believe the combination of speed and great technique can make up the difference in physical strength. i.e. the quick hands of Federer, Nadal’s recovery speed. Like in Tai chi, use the opponent’s power to your own advantage.
Not that I’m saying Kei have these abilities, but if a player emerge similar to Kei’s physique and possess those talents can match the best of them. Obviously I hope Kei can be one.

Re: Kei Nishikori
I know what you mean but when it comes to D.O.B for passport or official stats etc. We all follow the same calendar, and i think most of the younger generation won't even know their Lunar birthdays(If Japan also have this, I thought it was only in Chinese culture) or how to calculate it.
I was thinking either side just screwed up, miscomunication :P

Re: Kei Nishikori
I'm not 100%, so please correct me if ive mistaken. I think it still allows them to play on the junior circut, but there are limits/restrictions to the tournaments you can enter on ATP tour.

Re: Kei Nishikori
But i think what you point out already might be the biggest difference, its probably all abt the money.

Re: Kei Nishikori
I actually have no idea
He's in a tiebreaker with Gabashvili right now.
It's 3-2 for him.

Re: Kei Nishikori
Kei won 7-6(4) 6-3
I'm so excited for him, it's his time to get up in the rankings
2R against (probably) Benneteau. Good luck!

Re: Kei Nishikori
Nice one Kei, trully taking advantage of the SE.
Benneteau could be a tough match-up though because he can rally with Kei from the back of the court. But if he can pull it off, it will be a dream 3rd round match with H-T.
