i guess he just ran out of gas after all of his long matches (and doubles! ) Good start to the clay season in my opinion.

Still upset that he lost after 4-2... Reminds me of Justine
But anyways, it was awesome to see Richard playing his best tennis in the tourney early in the 1st set. Everything was working. But I guess he could have lost after that horrendous match against Verdasco. So it's all good.

I'm disappointed a bit because he had a chance, however, ferrero fought really well so there's no excuses.I think he just ran out of gas.
Two tough matches and doubles, but he probably learned now he could do better than he'd believed. It has been a good tournament for him, indeed.
Anyway I think the fantastic play from both players and going to ferrero's point was a turning point.

True, I agree. I was a little eh at Ferrero win, he started playing better, read Gasquet's play better, upped his game little by little. I'm not sure if playing doubles should ever be in his agenda anymore.
Although, I mean after that TB choke in 1st round could have seen him out of the tourney early, as well in the 3rd round. But he held his nerve. He probably could have in the end, but fatigue just set in today, and that was it.

Although the one critism I had on Ferrero's play was that, I mean everyone knew that Richie was the marathon man this year, and yet Ferrero didn't drop shot too much letting Richie hang around, instead it was Richie who drop shot more than Ferrero.

But there really isn't anything to be upset about. And there's no point to think what could have been. It could have been so much worse.

Pauvre Richou... he must get fitter! But he's showing what he can do on a clay court, which is considerable, and I know his talent only too well, being a Rogi fan. He can start peaking when he's in the bottom half of the draw!

I am not that disappointed, but Ferrero had little to do with the outcome of the match. And I like Ferrero. Richie paid the price for his on-court time, which is not the same as lacking fitness.

Yes. Some really positive signs from him. He showed a lot of variety, was great at the net and fought hard. I really really hope he is able to look at things from that perspective and forget the missed chances to reach the semis...

I think he'll do that. If he was able to come back after the Youzhny defeat to produce the tennis and the spirit of this week, then he can do even better in the upcoming tourneys.

Oh OK thanks.
I hardly really pay that much attention to ATP
Richard, Fab, Federer, Djoko, T-Berd are the only players that I really pay attention to here
