Re: Greg Rusedski
The sunshine returned to the grass courts of Surbiton today (Wednesday June 2nd) as fourth seed Greg Rusedski made his long awaited appearance in front of a British crowd.
The British number two struggled to impose himself on the first set against Australian Todd Reid, eventually taking it after a tie break. And he missed three set points in the second set before serving out to win 7-6, 6-3.
After his match a happy Rusedski said " It's good to be back on grass which is better for me than clay but I was wondering when the first win would arrive. I hoped it would be before June but it's here now and I know I need to get sharper. It's a confidence thing and I really am looking forward to tomorrow because practice is no substitute for actual match play".
yeh greggie boy yeh thats the way !!!!!!!!

Re: Greg Rusedski
I'm pleased Greg has finally got himself winning again. Guess it must be because of the green, green grass of 'home'.
Go Greg- good luck in your next match!

sets in Roland Garros, so I hope not to win the first two sets this time. (Smiling.)

Re: Greg Rusedski
I'm glad Greg managed to get direct entry for Queens. Good luck to him, I think he's capable of doing OK.
He still hasn't decidded whether he's playing Nottingham yet, I feel he needs to play this as not defending his title will affect his points badlly, and if he were to skip Nottingham, he would plummet out of the top 200 even {not sure on exact numbers}.
Well I hope he makes the right decision, all the best Greg.

Re: Greg Rusedski
V. disappointed after watching the loss yesterday He let his chances slip. So often that's the case with Greg Oh well, I'm glad to see him on the grass & hopefully they'll give him a wildcard to Notts I guess (being the defending champion)

Re: Greg Rusedski
Greg Rusedski heads the four British men who have been given wildcards for Wimbledon later this month.
The British number two will be joined by Lee Childs, Jonathan Marray and Alex Bogdanovic in the main draw.

Re: Greg Rusedski
Greg is a gonna - grass has come too soon for him.
He clearly has the ability - but maybe not the mind.
Can't even beat a mediocre player like Lee on his favourite surface!
