It's only 1-0 and 1-0. Plus, he beat Davydenko before Davy made his breakthrough. And Marat can lose to the likes of Ramirez-Hidalgo and Lopez depending on his mood so...

More importantly, I don't think Monfils is in any sort of form at the moment, added to the fact that he doesn't have any DC experience. I really hope Forget gives him a playing spot one of these days but this tie isn't the right time....

Probably true

Actually, Tarpishev could do a lot of winning combinations. You could switch Gael with Paulo in your sentence as well.

I had forgotten to talk about Monfils. I'd love to see him in the team. Pity Forget is that timorous, but it's not like he deserved it badly...

There's one French player who has a 5-2 DC win-loss record on clay in singles. And 9-0 on clay in doubles!

I present to you...

Okayyy, after seeing him played yesterday, I think Paulo is a bet worths placing. But I think the outcome of doubles match is going to play a big part in the end.

I think you have a valid point if Monfils was in better form though. He can beat the two of them.

Forget will announce his selection tomorrow at 13:00.
There is an article about it today in l'Équipe:

Seb means he's the only one to have so much experience in DC, Paulo means he has experience too and he wouldn't be surprised if Forget doesn't pick Seb, Richie says Forget will probably choose Seb, Simon means it's time to give new guys a chance like himself, Bennet or Monfils, Delaitre (Monfils' coach) also means they have lost two times in a row with that team against Russia and they must make some changes now, Bennet doesn't have much hope after his first round loss, but Monfils still hasn't given up on playing this tie, Mahut means only Mika is indisputable in doubles, Arnaud and Richie disagree and mean that point will be essential and they shouldn't take any risk...

Exactly, but Mahut tries to sell him though! (He says Mika should play, no question about that, but Forget should pick as 2nd doubles player a guy who also has good results in singles at the moment -> Bennet.)

I think only Richard and Mika can breathe easy. Forget should choose Santoro and PHM (after watching Seb's match against Richard... ) but I think he'll pick Clement and is still deciding between Seb and PHM.

A soap opera indeed

http://tennis.sports.fr/fr/cmc/scann...526.html?popup

It's Richie, Paulo, Arnaud, Mika. No Seb - but Forget said he might pick a 5th player in the next few days.

Edit: According to the FFT website, he "will" name a 5th player:

Paulo! /

La Clé's better prove he deserved it...

As for the potential 5th player : Benneteau? Monfils?

No Fabrice... As always.
