Re: Come on Great Britain
WE WON!!!! wahoooo
gregs now playing the dead rubber
Tim Henman beat Gilles Muller to clinch victory for Great Britain in their Davis Cup tie against Luxembourg.
Henman won 7-6 6-2 6-1 to put Britain 3-1 up with just one rubber remaining.
The British number one was broken early in the match and Muller served for the first set and then had two set points on Henman's next serve.
But Henman came through the scare and won the subsequent tie-break before cruising to victory in his third-straight match of the weekend.

Re: Come on Great Britain
Team GB playing Austria in September... should be a fun tie to follow... Murray and Bogdanovic in the team... as well as T&G - clay tie against likes of koubek and melzer... two good singles players: murray very good upcoming junior, may not play but bogdanovic not long ago got kicked out the LTA squads, but since winning the manchester challenger, has 'prooved' his committment to petchey and bates... or they just know they need him... i hope he plays, he showed us what he can do against australia in 2003 feb tie, thats for sure!
lets see Great Britain back in the world group, and tim win his first WG match yeah!

Re: Come on Great Britain
I don't think they can risk playing Greg on Friday, the doubles will be crucial and Tim & Greg must play together at their best, to give GB the chance of taking the tie. Greg is not match fit and if he has a long 5 setter, on heavy clay on Friday, he won't be at his best for the doubles. There is also the risk of him picking up an injury on Friday (or maybe he's got a slight one anyway as why did he lose in straight sets in Delray?) So they need to maybe forgo one rubber on the first day. Thats always supposing Tim can win his rubber on Friday which is no forgone conclusion, this clay won't be like the French and he lost to Melzer earlier this year. We also don't know who will be playing first until the draw - Its going to be a very tricky tie and if it comes down to a live fifth rubber, goodness knows who Bates will put in, probably Greg if he hasn't played the two previous days. If he has played on Friday & Sat, he's said himself he can't play 5-setters 3 days in a row and his form of late backs that up. What has Mackin done recently?, probably not much or he would have been selected for the team. At least Murray is coming off a big win and his best surface is clay, he looks as if he has the stomach for the big matches so give him a chance, what have we to lose. If he's going to be beset by nerves it doesn't bode well for the future but hopefully he'll shine, You have to play 5 set matches sometime, Tim hadn't played a 5 set match until he beat Kafelnikov at Wimbledon in 96.

Re: Come on Great Britain
There is a cracking DC tie going on between France and Spain in the semis on Xtra. For the neutral it might be a great watch.
Mathieu has put france one up by beating Moya, and Santaro is on serve with Ferrero in the first. Remember, france have their number one Grosjean missing. It just shows great strength in depth in French tennis at the moment, Something we don't have.

Have to admit I would choose to watch Spain v France everytime!!! I also promised to record Juan-Carlos Ferrero's matches for a German friend of mine who is a huge J-C fan, so makes sense to keep my eye on the match (and the tape) at the same time.
