Allez Fabrice! This match of yours with Blake is brilliant, you are playing your heart out and you are handling the NYC crowd beautifully

What's next on Fabrice's schedule?

He played a little exhibition with Eysseric a few days ago in France, there are pics on the French website dedicated to him:
http://www.fabrice-santoro.fr/dossiers/poissy.pdf
And he is in the entry list of: Mumbai, Metz, Moscow, Lyon (+ he will play Bercy, I guess)
He won't make the MD of Madrid with his actual ranking unless there are a lot of withdrawals and I doubt he will play the qualies.

Default Re: Come & cheer for Fab on the Tour

There is a little article about him in L'Équipe today and he confirms he will play all these tournaments at the end of the year, and even more since he wants to play a couple of Challengers after Bercy. (I don't get why he's playing so many Challengers, honestly.)
He's also looking for a new coach because Raymond and Planque are now working for the FFT.
So he never gives a clear answer to the question if he'll keep playing next year, but it sure sounds like he will.
He also explains that playing Mumbai is a way to test his real motivation, the conditions are really tough because of the climate, it's at the other end of the world while he could stay home with his family, etc.
Quote:

Better than the 1st round match. He's gonna play the semis against Gasquet.

He lost.. and what a victory it must have been for Richard to beat his hero!

At least he lost to a good player!

Means he can head Metz where he's to play Andreev for the 1st round.

I don't know where the ATP website gets this "child idol" story from, I know they're friends, yes, but I kind of doubt Fab was Richie's "hero" when he was a kid? In Tennis Magazine, he answered guys like Sampras, Stich, etc. when he was asked about his favourite players.

Have fun in Metz, Choupi!
But Fab has got a tough first round in singles and I was a bit disappointed not to see him in the doubles draw.

Thanks!! True that Andreev is more than a serious opponent for a 1st round match. And I don't wanna have too high an expectation on that match. All I hope is that Fab can give all he can and that I can watch that match.

As for him not taking part to the doubles, well, he's had a long week and he's not 20 anymore, so I can understand the decision. True that the doubles contest won't be the same without him.

You can vote for Fabrice to get a WC in Madrid:
http://www.marca.com/encuestas/encuesta_70570.html
He won't win, but never mind (and if they realize Lopez should never have been in this poll to begin with because he is an obvious WC for Madrid, maybe the 2nd ranked will get it, lol).

But in L'Équipe today, Fab says anyway he had no energy in his match yesterday (he lost agaisnt Lapentti after having won the first set) and means he will probably skip Madrid to recover.

He doesn't need a WC anyway to enter the main draw of Madrid after all the withdrawals, he's in.
I hope he will play now...
