There is a little article about Jon today in L'Equipe.
Last time people saw him, he had taken Murray to a 5th set in Roland-Garros in a match which was supposed to launch his career on the main tour (he was ranked at #390 at the time). Six months later, he's #325 and in Croissy-Beaubourg watching his teammates from the stands because the captain of Lagardère Paris Racing picked Renavand over him for the last singles (Jonathan is obviously disappointed: "it's his choice, but I don't think it's fair...")
He means he isn't stagnating, though. After RG, he played a QF in Future and won a title, but he had physical issues then, was feeling completely drained on the court after 20 minutes. He had a blood test in September and it showed that there really was a problem and he needed to rest. So it's true that he was stagnating at the end of the summer, but he means he's improving again.
Next week he will go to Las Vegas for an Adidas training organized by Agassi (10 days, together with Dimitrov). And then he will start training with his new structure in the Team Lagardère (together with Benneteau, they will be coached by Champion and Nicolas Copin).
He will have 3 weeks intense training and his season will start with Noumea. He'll need a WC to play the AO qualies, so that part isn't sure yet.
Next year he will play mostly Challengers to enter the top 100 as soon as possible and he will only go back to the Futures level when he needs to win some matches and regain confidence.

Here's the original article:
Quote:

ARTHUR PRALON
He played today for his club, but he lost 6/2 7/6 to Doble.

jonathan

he seemed to be in very good progression this year, especially after his positive 5 sets match against murray in roland garros.
2 coachs?I know champion but nicolas copin?
his confidence right now is just non-existent.Being replaced by renavand in french teams championships, that doesnt help
I just hope he'll get his confidence back quickly. He's just too talented to play challengers or futurs.
He needs to play and win titles.GO Jonathan

A bit since it's not about Jon, but I just came across that article about the Adidas training camp in Las Vegas L'Equipe was talking about, it's actually with Agassi's fitness guru Reyes who is appointed by Adidas:

After Sheffield, where he lost against Eaton, he plays 2 french futures :
In Feucherolles, win to Jonathan Dasnieres de Veigy 6/4 6/7 6/4 but loss to Jean-Noel Insausti 4/6 2/6.
In Bressuire, win to Maxime Quiqueneau 5/7 6/2 6/3, but loss to Fabrice Martin 7/6 6/7 4/6.

No good results Work, again and again
