I am not sure if I really want to know these details.

I saw her against Venus, she did honourably, just lacked power, but showed some smart play.

Not that surprised by the loss actually. Berankis has always been a good junior player, winning the orange bowl 13/14 for instance if my memory serves me well. He also won his first future title on the ATP tour on clay this year. Watching the sb, Jonathan won very little points on Berankis'serve in the third set while he was struggling on his own. I'd like to read a report from the match though.

I think he had 2 BPs to get back on serve in the third set though.

9 altogether (1 converted) but 2 in the third set.

At the end of the second set, I was watching the Nadal/Moya match (or Djoko/andreev )and when I came back on the sb he was down 3-0 . So I suppose it was in the second game. because after that he won something like 2/3 points on his return games whereas he was steadily pushed to 30-30 or deuce on his serve...

Yeah, I think it was in his opponent's second or third service game.

Interesting blog entry

Quote:
WEDNESDAY - JONATHAN

Today is a bad day, I lost my match today against Berankis. Actually it was a bad day for all the French boys, Paire, Piro and Inzerillo all lost too! What is going on! I played bad and he played really good. I played him when I was 13 and lost 63 in the third, same as today! So I am little bit sad but it's ok and I won my doubles. Kellen my partner won in singles, so at least he was happy. It's a bit tough when you are French and you lose at Roland Garros because you have to speak to the press, I had to do a press conference and tell them why I lost the match, sometimes they ask stupid questions and also say the same things alot of times, but that's my job, so I have to be professional.

Now I will make sure that Kellen and I win the doubles. I hope Kellen's leg is ok because it was a bit sore after his singles match. Tomorrow he is playing Romboli, hopefully he is going to play well and win becuase if he loses I am scared for my doubles! We are going to play doubles together at Wimbledon and US Open.

I have to finish now because I am such a big TV star that I have to go and do another interview. There is too much to do at the Grand Slams!

Ok, so I'll blog longer tomorrow because I'm bad and I don't play singles any more!

see you tomorrow!

Jon

He seems like a fun person

I'm really glad he's playing with Kellen, I like them both a lot.

THURSDAY - JONATHAN

Today was so boring I just played doubles, I slept until 10 o clock and then I came to the site at 10.30. So because I have free time I’ve started a new job as Assistant Press Officer of the ITF. I am Faye’s trainee. My job consists of going to the court when the match is finished and saying to the player “you have to do a press conference, what time do you want to do it?” Then when they tell me a time, I radio through to Nick at the interview desk on the walkie talkie and tell him what time, so he can make an announcement to tell the press the time. I made Kellen, my doubles partner, come to press immediately, he didn’t have a choice. I watched Kellen’s match, he played well.

So, when I wasn’t working with Faye I slept in the Players Lounge but I set the alarm on my mobile because I had to warm up at 3.00.

I played doubles on Court 1 with Kellen and finally I broke the curse of Court 1 for me, because every other time I played there, I lost. Me and Kellen won 76 60, the first set was tough because Kellen was a little bit tired, but then in the second set he woke up. After my match I arranged my own interview, so Faye can relax!

Days like today are quite tough because it is a lot of hanging around and it can be a bit boring, so I listen to music, when Kellen doesn’t steal my headphones, he broke his own. I like French music, R & B, and Kellen has been teaching me about some country music, he is a cowboy because he is going to college in Texas next year.

I’m going back to the hotel now. My family are here with me, we lived in Paris from when I was born until I was thirteen, so they know lots of people and are always going out for dinner in the evening. I support Marseille football even though I was born in Paris, and they are rivals. Marseille were second in the league last year and Paris were something like sixteenth.

So I’m the only blogger now as Michelle has left so I have to win tomorrow otherwise you will have no-one to blog. We will play Bedene and Martin.

I saw Justine Henin after her match, I’m glad she won, I know her a little bit because she lives in Monte Carlo near to my home and I have practiced with her a few times.

Ok, so that’s all for today.

A demain!

Jon
Wow. So he's practised with the #1s on both tours before!
