Bah he also lost in the doubles first round. He is the third seed in the Sarasota challenger and will play wildcard Jesse Levine in the first round. Come on Don  !!!!

Too bad Donald isn't playing in France. I have never seen a more frustrating player. He has the talent but you wonder if he has the will to put things together to get his career where it should be before it is too late. I would love to see him fulfill his potential. It is a make or break time imo. I hope he shows signs that he is serious about getting to the big leagues with a new plan for physical fitness, improving some areas of weakness in his game like his serve becoming a consistent weapon, mental attitude, improving his return game and really just an overall plan where he can get cheap points off opponents.
If not he is just going to be spinning his wheels as someone said in the 75-100 range.

I don't think grand slam tennis is appropriate for Young right now anyway. he's struggling badly and doing well at a Challenger will do a lot more for his confidence than losing in qualies of RG or something...

Qualies doesn't hurt IMO.
He is the fourth seed in Carson and is going to play Nick Lindahl of Australia in the first round.

If it were a different slam, he probably would've, but the upside probably wasn't as big as staying in the US and hopefully doing well at a couple CH events. I think for him it makes sense. He's obviously having a confidence crisis right now
