Number 2 In The World
Im just wondering if anyone know what the record is for most consecutive weeks at No. 2 in the rankings.
And also, maybe the most consecutive weeks at eitehr No. 1 or No. 2 in the world.

Yes! me too. I'm looking for it for a long time now but the Atp site doesn't tell the rankings of the early 80's. So If somebody knows where I can find them please tell me.....

Re: Number 2 In The World
I don't know but my favourite to that is Guillermo Vilas.
The best player in the Open Era who never reached No. 1

Re: Number 2 In The World
No doubt that Nadal in terms of results is the best player in the last 20 years not to have reached the no. 1 in the rankings.

Re: Number 2 In The World
Poor Nadal, he has a fairly big gap between him and the others below him.
He may drop from No.2 after the European clay court season.

I agree with the other poster about Vilas
However Nadal is very very talented but not like Vilas in the sense that Vilas is THE clay king!
And Pete Sampras was like always no.1 & 2? He's 3rd in weeks at no.2!!

Re: Number 2 In The World
Nadal must be approaching the most weeks ever at the number two spot.

Re: Number 2 In The World
Wow, beating Boris. That would suck for Nadal. We've never had a 3 year period where number 1 and 2 were the same.
No, he's not that close. This week which ends in a few days will be week number 133 for Nadal as number 2, which he first got July 25, 2005. He will tie the record on March 7th and break it March 14th.
January 25th is week 130
February 2nd is week 131
February 9th is week 132
February 16th is week 133.
February 23rd is week 134.
March 1st is week 135
March 8th is week 136 (To tie)
March 15th is week 137 (To break).

Re: Number 2 In The World
It's possible he could lose number two if Djokovic wins in Indian Wells and in Dubai, and he defends his points at Rotterdam, but only if Nadal loses early in both.

Re: Number 2 In The World
Nadal just clinched this with Djokovic's decision to withdraw from Rotterdam. Congrats Nadal! Most weeks ever at number 2!
