Klein caused a massive upset in my oppinion, he beat world number 145 Golubev the third seed 7-6(3) 6-3, he must have served well at 68% never had a break point against him but nor did he serve an ace quite weird but none the less he still won!
this is a $125,000 tournament as well. He was in satellites until very recently so this is a great win and a great tournament choice. Numbers 1 and 2 are gone as well with Brydan sitting in the weaker top half. Dont want to look too far ahead though........
Now into the semi finals with a hard fought win over Marchenko 4/6 6/3 7/5. Saved a match point in the process. Brydan now plays Donskoy for a spot in the singles final. Good luck to him. Been a very impressive week for him. Watch that ranking climb now.
Fuck it is so good too see him doing well again, i really missed seeing him on the tour a few years back when he was suspended for like 5 months for that rascism thing and hasnt return to the form or ranking he had before that incident so great to see him getting big wins in challenger events would love to see him at the Aus Open next year too!
Round 1: (7) Klein def (LL) Matsukevtich 6-3 4-6 6-4.
This is on clay so I'm not expecting a great week from Brydan. He will play Nedovyesov next who won his first match 6-0 6-1.
It is hard to belive that Klein is still only 22. I really hole he can reach his fll potential and make the most of his carrer. He is up to 222 in the rankings now and got detect acceptance into the US open quallies.
