Yeah, on one hand I can't handle more such drama so it's good he's retiring but on the other hand my health is ruined already anyway I'm afraid.  
Anyway, lot's of  s to everyone, at least one more pro match to go. 
Delpo might not have recovered from the wrist injury i.e. not be 'match tough' yet. *I know I know the other thread  *

I know - it was awful...I wanted to hurl for about 45 minutes.
I really just want to talk with you, Heidi, Giselle, etc. as I find that fun and comforting (esp now) but those people drive me NUTS...

yes... at first we were just talking about Marat to one another. then some other people jumped in and were kind of arguing about his mentality, fitness & dedication throughout the years, etc...so we got pulled into that. then it just got awful - couldn't even chat with people posting such nonsense. Supposedly a fan, saying 'oh well he isn't injured anymore'...oh my god, are you serious?!
But I can you one thing, we are real supporters, not just 'fans'. It takes a real tennis fan to actually support Marat, the last few years haven't been fun, but we're still here, cheering him on until the end. |

I will never understand how people can be that DENSE. I mean, was he not a headcase before he was injured? why would his head be the problem, but, only after 2005? it's so ridiculous...
well said about us. I hope (and I think he does) he knows that he does have a loyal loving fan base out there that supports him no matter what...

I know. He was even worse before the injury...I mean, I remember, a set up vs Chela at Hamburg in 2002 and he just absolutely burst his racket in half and through it over to the chair. He was every bit as bad and even worse I think, probably because there was more at stake and he had more opportunity to break rackets seeing as he played more!

I really needed that positive group spirit too! because that match was some white-knuckle ride. Took me an hour's walk in the freezing cold to get my heart rate down to normal, and for once Marat wasn't to blame, it was that insane chatbox!  It ought to come with the warning "Abandon Hope, all ye who enter here". It was impossible to keep track of our conversation when most of our comments kept disappearing under an avalanche of nonsense.
When people come out with garbage about Marat, I know the first instinct is to defend/protect him, but to me it's like trying to reason with styrofoam - totally pointless! I just don't take the bait, no more energy or inclination for it.  |
