May 20 - Nice
May 27 - Roland Garros
June 11 - Halle
June 18 - Eastbourne
June 25 - Wimbledon
July 9 - Stuttgart

I didn't expect him to play a tournament between Wimbledon and the Olympics. He will have a played a lot of tournaments from April-July...
Tomic's schedule is very funny in my opinion. Before his breakthrough at Wimbledon last year, he underplayed. Now he's ranked high enough for entry into any event, he overplays. Stuttgart after Wimbledon is silly.

Tomic is now in the difficult, mandatory tournament phase. Losing early in Madrid doesn't just sit at the bottom of his points breakdown, it replaces his worst countable tournament. His Rome performance will replace his Nottingham CH semi-finals, so he'll lose even more points if loses first round. His Rome draw becomes very important.

The only reason I can think of for him playing Stuttgart after Wimbledon if because he is taking the upcoming Davis Cup tie versus Germany very seriously and wants to improve as much as possible on the surface in order to give himself a chance of beating the likes of Mayer, Kohlschreiber, Haas on the dirt. If this is indeed his intentions I do support them.

I think - yes. They need to play a few matches together before the Olympics, but I'm sure they trained together.

RG seeds are based on the rankings after Rome. I believe the rankings after Halle and Queens are used for Wimbledon, but there is a formula (for the top 32) that determines the seeding.

Quote:
They take the player's entry ATP points (the week before Wimby) and add:

1) ADD 100% points earned for ALL grass court tournaments in the past 12 months.

2) ADD 75% points earned for BEST grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

^I just thought I'd point out that this formula only applies to players seeded in the first place. If Tomic is world number 34 for example, his quarter-finals from last year will not get him a seeding. But if he is seeded it may help him a lot, perhaps giving him a top 24 seed (much, much better than a 25-32 seed which can be worse than not being seeded altogether as you are drawn to play a top 8 seed in round 3).

So if tomic was seeded he would only get the points from 2010's best grasscourt showing added on? Or....that plus the points he got last year on all grass tournaments added aswell.... Eg plus another 360 for wimby and 58 for two semi challengers?
