He lost to Carlos Berlocq last year at RG 5-7 4-6 2-6.
A RG seeding looks likely, but it still isn't guaranteed yet since this week, Madrid, and Rome results are still to count. Another win this week would help, plus getting a winnable first round draw in Madrid and Rome.
He only has doubles scheduled tomorrow, so his match against Starace will be on Thursday.
Yes. Although the live rank is 30, there are at least 10 players active this week who could possibly add enough points to leapfrog him. Now it would be impossible that 10 could do this. Only Chela can pass Tomic by winning the next round alone. The chances of hanging on to at worst #32 are already quite good, but another win would take it out of the hands of fortune completely.
^The reason for this rule is that you can't be in two places at once. If you make the semi-finals of an event, you will most likely play over the qualification period of the next event. But it works well; if you're in good enough form to make a main draw SF, you deserve a spot in the next tournament anyway.
takes first set 6-1. I think one of the things which needs to be worked on is Tomic's mid-court tactics when he has the advantage....of course when his opponents are out of position he plays he signatuire dropshot....but when they are still in a decent position he's still unsure how to proceed with the next shot....those situations are the only thing in this match which is troubling Tomic
