I didn't get to watch the match, but it looks like the quality of play was great. Both had just 11 unforced errors with 37 winners for Max and 52 for Dima. If the latter can keep his number of errors this low as the tournament goes on, he has a great chance to go really far.

It is somewhat deceiving. Max is a S&V player and S&V matches tend to blow winners/UEs ratio out of proportion. When a player comes to the net, he will most likely score a winner - or his opponent will pass him, lob him, whatever - also a winner. UEs are relatively rare there, especially since most of the errors will be counted as forced, because the net player often puts enough pressure on the baseline player so his mistake can't really be called 'unforced'.

Pete Sampras used to have a magnificent winner/UE ratio, due to the fact that most of his service points were won by serving to the far corner, coming to the net and volleying to the opposite (or sometimes the same  ) corner. He made very very few errors during the process; and even points he still lost on his 1st serve, were actually return winners by his opponent.

Bad news Dima fans

From TR.net
Not clowning around: Tursunov has torn tendon

FROM THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN – Dmitry Tursunov may come off as goofy and easy going, but he doesn’t treat his body that way. The infamous ATP blogger and 21st seed has a torn tendon in his left wrist and may not be able to last in his third-round match against No. 13 Tomas Berdych on Saturday.

 Dima has had so many injury problems during his career. He was finally healthy for an extended period of time and rose up the ranks accordingly. But now this….I imagine that this is the same injury that was bugging him after the Hopman Cup? This sucks.

Sounds like the same injury that caused him to withdraw from Sydney last week, and there was some talk at the time that he wouldn't take part in the AO  In fact I think if it had been any other tournament than a Grand Slam he would not have started the week. Hope he will be OK.
