Re: Go Tomas in Australia!!!
Yes he doesn't have a great record against Nikolay but he's in terrific form and I'm pretty confident he can make it through to the Quarters.

Re: Go Tomas in Australia!!!
Tomas wins the first set 7-5!!!
Almost had a heart attack after he served 3 double faults while serving for the set at 5-3.

Re: Go Tomas in Australia!!!
But now, what is wrong with him? Even the cheerleaders are having a hard time getting him out of this weird funk.

Re: Go Tomas in Australia!!!
That was incredibly frustrating.
He should have won the first set 6-3 after serving at 5-3 only to serve 3 double faults. Then he was clearly the most impressive player in the second set and had about 8 break points, but lost them all. He had 0-40 when Davydenko was serving for the set, and threw them all away. Then he just gifted the 3rd set with minimal effort. He had a break in the 4th only to lose that and get defeated in the tiebreak.
Yet another wasted oppertunity.

He’s got a terrific cheer squad that have been to both his games offering him great support. The “Tomas Berdych Army” they like to call themselves. He enjoys their support and why wouldn’t he as they are quite entertaining.
Hopefully he continues to progress deep into the second week.

WOW we were in the same place and didn't even get to meet for an argument??
Just joking
----------------------------------
I missed Tomas's 1st round coz I was watching Almagro v Ginepri and trying to catch some shade inbetween (that was the ridiculously hot day ). I saw his round 2, 3 and 4 matches though. Impressive all the way I thought. Yesterday against Davydenko he was great in parts and the match was extremely close except for when he flaked and gave away the 3rd set - that was really disappointing. Was also extremely impressed with his mental attitude when he was 0-40 giving Davydenko 3 match points. He fought back well to win the game and take it to the TB.
All in all... after seeing a very disappointing effort against Simon last year and losing 1st round to Coria the year before, I'm SOOO happy that I've been able to witness some great live singles tennis from Tomas this year Before this I'd only had his impressive QF in doubles in 2005.
Yes I did take photos again too... but I have to do the uploading/editing/resizing before I can share them
