Ok, I was holding my breath for this draw. Roger's draw isn't so very bad. I was plum upset to see Gasquet in Roger's quarter. Andy, Ljubicic and Marat in Roger's half.

Yes, but it isn't as bad as it sounds. He will play only one of them, provided he and one of them gets to the semis.

Finally a more balance draw. No cakewalk for Nadal. And funny to see all the Nadal 'tards' in GM complaining. What hypocrites.

I don't think it's bad, but I, personally, think Andy can make some serious trouble for Roger in the SF.

I know.......I can't believe they are complaining. Unless it's a pure cakewalk like Wimbledon, they aren't happy.

Andy's got to get to the SF first (and Roger too, of course). I remember last year Andy cruised in his early rounds and then he ran into Baggy. I predict something similar this year. His first couple rounds he'll win easily not having to do much. Could be interesting if he meets Safin.

Anyway I just want Roger to take him out tomorrow. I know it's an exo and doesn't mean anything but I want Roger to keep the mental edge over Andy. At least now he'll really know what to expect after playing Roddick in Shanghai.

Yeah, not bad! We'll see what happens at Kooyong tomorrows. Some pretty good potential matches elsewhere...like mentioned, Safin-Roddick 3rd round, maybe Berdych-Tursunov...

If he had withdrawn prior, then yes they just bump the seeds up. It has happened quite frequently in the past that one from 1-16 (or 1-32 as the case may be) has withdrawn. I remember Henman benefiting from such a situation in the not so distant past.
Anyway, Bigmouthenko didn't withdraw....

Hear, hear. I think Roger will take the match seriously now that he knows he could meet Andy in the SF.

EDIT: I was obviously mistaken. Roger was extremely experimental...

Here are some interesting and revealing facts about the head-to-heads between Roger and the players in his half of the draw of the Australian Open 2007:

Apart from the qualifiers:

- Roger is 51 - 7 life-time against opponents in his quarter of the draw
- Amongst the players in his quarter, only Phau has a winning record against Roger: 1 - 0 (6-2, 6-3 in 1999 on a hard-court)

- Roger is 70 - 12 life-time against players in the other quarter of his draw
- In this quarter, only Hrbaty has a winning record against Roger: 2 - 0 (4-6 6-2 6-2 in 2000 on carpet and 1-6 7-6(7) 6-4 in 2004 on hard-court)

- That's a combined 121 - 19 against opponents in his half of the draw (again, not counting the qualifiers)

No cakewalk???? This an absolutely horseshit draw, Nadal has a free ride to the quarters for God's sakes! And Blake and Berdych won't even make it to their respective quartefinal and semifinal slots to even play Nadal.

OTOH, Roger has to deal with Youzhny in R3, Djokovic in R4, Gasquet/Baggy in QF and then of course there is Marat/Andy looming (my guess it will be Marat!) in the semis.

And of course the swine with the cupcake draw waiting for him in the final
