A bit lucky the 1st set, winning the set with the only break point opportunity, but the 2nd set was well deserved then.
THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE!!!!
go out and kick some serious ass Kiwi... now against Coria
Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan
Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy
But overall a very good and promising result from Nico Hope he can continue playing like that. Does anyone know where he will play after this? I am really hope he can play few more tournaments before RG and has good result so can be seeded in RG
I thought Kiefer played totally crap for at least half the match! He was doing fine until he was serving at 3-4 in the first set. Then he seemed to lose the plot until well into the second set. Some of his unforced errors were awful. And Coria didn't even play particularly well (didn't have to, really).
Oh well, everyone has a bad day. Let's hope he keeps his good form for the Davis Cup next week
My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:
Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

I think it was a mentall game. He was a bit scared of coria, his ranking (donno why) and that just didn't work out for nico, sometimes you have such opponents you can't really beat them for many games. I think their kind of play doesn't get well together at all......
do you know who's going to play singles for Germany? Kiefer and Haas? or Schüttler?
probably the doubles will be Kiefer/Schüttler, right?
I didn't hear anything yet. If you or someone else knows, tell me/us then. Tnx.
Team captain, Patrik Kuhnen, only announced Waske is added to the team as back up for doubles. He probably wants to see how Haas, Kiefer and Schuettler perform in practice. I think all 3 players will have the chance to play singles.
