I seriously have tears in my eyes! I am so proud of Kiefer! I have been a fan and known no others and to have him getting either the gold or silver is beyond words. I didn't expect anything from the Olympics for him -- especially in doubles! This is madness and i LOVE it!! Kiwi will have something that the top players in the world will not. An Olympic medal.

BRING HOME THE GOLD NICOLAS AND RAINER!!!!!!

Okay, I take back ALL of my earlier worries and concerns. None of it matters anymore!!! I refuse to say the words g--- m---- in case I jinx him, but I am so pleased for him that he is playing in that final. Oh my godess, oh my goddess, oh my goddess!

Allez Nic! Go Deutschland! (have to acknowledge the French side too)
Go Rainer!

hey guys!

they've been posting some pix over on the rainer thread of the boys after their win yesterday, so i thought i'd bring them over here so us kiefer fans can enjoy them too!

i am so anxious for tomorrow! it's so funny cuz before the olympics started my dream was to see Kiefer on tv, and the only way i was going to was if he played Federer, Roddick or Fish or if he made it to a gold medal game... And he did the most outrageous of all those to get on my television in the States! I love it! Eeep!

I've just found an awesome article describing the feeling of Nikolas and Rainer very well. Damn, they seem so emotional about that, that they almost forget about everything else.

The headline of the article is "This medal is the height of my career"

later they're calling the final "their biggest final of their career"

hopefully, they are winning it!

Quote:
Tennis: "Diese Medaille ist der Höhepunkt meiner Laufbahn"
Von Peter Penders, Athen

Was ihnen Olympia bedeutet?

The men's doubles final is about to begin on USA Network!!!! This is an excellent chance for the Germans to medal in gold, the Chileans have got to be tired (plus, Gonzo's ankle could be sore after twisting it yesterday).

GO GO GO KIWI AND RAINER!!!!! GO FOR THE GOLD!!!!!

too bad Kiwi and Rainer didn't take the Gold home, but Silver is also worth something... at first I was very disappointed, but now I'm realizing what it really means!

initially i was heartbroken, but then i got back to where i was before this game even started... before the tie break even... that the silver medal is sooooooooooooooooo much more than i EVER expected. EVER. i didn't even let the idea of a gold medal come into my head until the tie break. and i wish i hadn't even then. but by the time the game was over i was back to my zen zone of being happy with everything. he just looked so crushed it broke my heart. i hope that he realizes now how great he did and how proud of him everyone is. please, the top players in the sport dont have ANY medal, let alone a silver.
